  •  Can you share about your journey in becoming an aesthetic practitioner and beautician? What initially sparked your interest in this field?

My journey began 17 years ago. I started as a cosmetology student, and after a few years, I became an aesthetic practitioner six years ago.

From the beginning, I was always interested in women’s beauty, beautification, and everything that could help women feel beautiful and confident. My initial steps were in cosmetology, where I focused on taking care of the skin and doing facials. Every task I performed was aimed at making women feel more beautiful and better about themselves.

Later, as an aesthetic practitioner, I started focusing on specific areas like lips, face beautification, and jawlines. In every step I took, my goal was to enhance women’s beauty.

  • Every journey has its ups and downs. What were the challenges you faced, and how did you overcome them?

The journey isn’t easy because, as you know, you always need to keep learning. It’s a long process to become a good cosmetologist, starting as a student practitioner and then becoming a teacher and assessor.

I work as both a teacher and assessor, so it’s like having double the responsibility. I have to perform treatments and also teach others. This is the key aspect when it comes to facing challenges and experiencing both highs and lows.

In a competitive market, it’s essential to be really good to stay in the industry. For me, the crucial point is that I don’t see others as competitors. When I see someone doing well, it motivates me to improve myself continuously.I don’t believe in competing with others because I respect everyone, especially those who are learning and have ambitions. This mindset has always been my main focus.

  • Looking back, what achievements in your career are you most proud of?

I take pride in achieving a high percentage in cosmetology, and when I began working as an aesthetic practitioner, I earned numerous awards for my work. However, what makes me most proud is having clients who trust me. Building trust with my clients is the most important thing for me.

  • As a teacher, what do you find most rewarding about guiding others in their journey to becoming successful beauty professionals?

Being an example for my old students is very rewarding for me. When they see me and follow my path, wanting to be even better than me, it brings me joy.I always do my best to teach and guide what it takes to become a seasoned professional. However, it’s essential to understand that becoming a professional is a long journey, and everyone will make mistakes. Learning from those mistakes is essential. So, even though the mistakes might be small, they are necessary for learning and improvement. If students avoid making mistakes and skip the learning process, they won’t achieve the desired results and become true professionals.

  •  What areas within aesthetics do you specialise in, and what drew you to those specific aspects of beauty and skincare?

I specialise in treating the face and body, with a primary focus on the face. In cosmetology, I work to take care of the skin and provide professional treatments to address various skin concerns that clients may have. I particularly enjoy working as an aesthetic practitioner, where I focus on enhancing features like the lips, cheeks, jawline, and nose. Additionally, I perform Botox treatments essential for smoothing out wrinkles and lines across the entire face. This is a crucial part of my work to help clients achieve a more youthful appearance.

  • How do you stay updated on the latest trends and techniques in the beauty industry?

Being a teacher and assessor, I’m always the first to know about changes in the regulations in the beauty industry. This means I get the information early on, allowing me to stay informed about what to expect and upcoming changes. It’s crucial to be aware of these changes. I spend a lot of time reading articles and keeping up with what other teachers, schools, and colleges are doing. As a VTCT and CPD provider, I have essential information that helps me inform my students about any changes in regulations. Understanding and following these regulations is vital for anyone starting a business and aiming to be a true professional in the beauty industry.

  •  Where do you see the future of the aesthetic industry heading, and how do you anticipate staying at the forefront of these changes?

Looking ahead, I believe the future of aesthetic procedures will be quite futuristic. The beauty industry, including aesthetics, has the potential to replace risky plastic surgery operations with safer aesthetic procedures. The products and techniques we’re working on can serve as alternatives to surgeries for various areas like the boobs, face, jawlines, and even the nose. Staying at the forefront of these changes involves keeping up with advancements in aesthetic procedures and technologies.

  •  What are your plans for the future?

I want to keep getting better at what I do, and I hope to work with friendly people in the beauty and aesthetic industry. My ambition is to keep learning, stay focused on my work, and connect with other skilled professionals.

  •  What advice would you give to individuals aspiring to excel in the ever-evolving field of aesthetics?

My advice for future aestheticians is to concentrate on learning, especially about the anatomy and physiology of the body. It’s crucial to understand how to manage complications because, without that knowledge, they won’t be able to become true professionals. Always prioritise your client’s safety, and remember that mistakes may happen, but it’s essential to handle and solve any issues to ensure the client’s well-being.
